Today was a fun-filled day at Crim Elementary School.  The 4-H In-School Enrichment Program presented “Quilts In The Classroom”.  Students constructed quilt blocks that will become part of a quilt donated to the neonatal unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.   The class also enjoyed reading “The Quiltmaker’s Gift” by Jeff Brumbeau and learning about cotton and how it is related to Agriculture.  Vintage feedsacks and quilt blocks were on display for enjoyment along with a 1950’s Featherweight Sewing Machine.

Wood County 4-H Camp Counselor Alumni Reunion

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:42 pm by woodcounty4hoh

4-H Camp has been a long tradition in Wood County.  Campers have been packing their suitcases for years for a week of fun at Kelly’s Island and Camp Palmer over the years.  Recently over ninety past camp counselors and guests gathered in Pemberville to share their fond camp memories.  Dick Martin and Jayne Roth both took a few moments to talk to the group about their expereiences over the years.  Past counselors also raised enough dollars for three 1/2 camp scholarships for campers this year.
