Ohio 4-H Hall Of Fame Inductee – Richard Martin
Wood County 4-H is proud to have Dick Martin become a member of the Ohio 4-H Hall Of Fame! For 30 years, as Wood County 4-H Agent, NW District 4-H Specialist, NW District Supervisor and his current role as 4-H donor and supporter, Dick has lived a life of unselfish service to others and it has had a profound impact on the lives of many. He continues to be a vocal advocate for 4-H and Extension. He is constantly spreading the word to everyone he meets, expounding on the importance of having 4-H for our youth and Extension in our communities. Today you will find him teaching volunteers, judging 4-H projects, and leading numerous programs throughout his community. Congratulations to Dick, we are honored to have you representing Wood County and your hard work and dedication to OSU Extension in the 4-H Hall Of Fame!

4-H In-School Makes Bread
Fourth Graders at Haskins Elementary made bread recently as part of the 4-H In-School Program. Students learned about the importance of Agriculture when making bread and it’s nutritional value.

4-H Leadership Board & Some In-School
The 4-H Leadership Board met recently with forty-five members in attendance. The evening was filled with fun leadership activities and a special session of 4-H CarTeens. Members are looking forward to an overnight workshop at 4-H Camp Palmer this Spring!
Fifty 4-H In-School Participants at Haskins Elementary School learned the science of making bread. Students also discovered the importance of soybeans not only in bread making, but in their everyday lives.

4-H Leadership Board And Our Commissioners
The Wood County 4-H Leadership Board held a kick off meeting a few weeks ago and it was a huge success! Forty five members enjoyed a potluck supper, gift exchange, get acquainted activities and highlights from the 2010 4-H year!
The Wood County Commissioners were recently presented with a “4-H Welcomes You To Wood County” road sign and a copy of the new 4-H Quilting Book “You Can Quilt”, based on the success of the Wood County 4-H Quilters. Special thanks to Tim Brown, Alvin Perkins and Jim Carter for supporting Wood County 4-H!

The New Ohio 4-H Quilt Book Is Hot Off The Press!
The new Ohio 4-H Quilt Book “You Can Quilt” is hot off the press! We are excited because it is structured around the Wood County 4-H Quilters and is co- authored by 4-H supporters including Wood County 4-H Volunteers Donna Arnold and Sarah Wensink and Wood County 4-H Program Assistant Jennifer Morlock. This project book is available for the 2011 4-H year! Many other 4-H volunteers and staff from around the state made this book possible, thank you everyone and yes…You Can Quilt!

Celebrate 4-H!
This past Saturday the Black Swamp Outlaws and Blue Ribbon Rangers 4-H Clubs had fabulous celebrations! The Wood County Extension 4-H Staff were the “Guests of Honor” at the Black Swamp Outlaws program. We thank you for your support and for all the wonderful things you do all year round! Blue Ribbon Rangers reminisced during their 65 year party. Past Advisors, Members and Friends gathered for an evening of memories and laughter. Thank you everyone for the dedication you show year in and year out for Wood County
4-H. We are proud of each and everyone of you!
